We collect only data necessary to provide services and tools you request in our business agreement. You own your farm data - it belongs to you whether it is in storage or transit. Merit-IoT will never sell it to third party advertisers, marketers, social media - nor will we ever advise you to do so. Merit-IoT does not use or promote the use of ad trackers on our website. Opt-in for anything optional (e.g., analytics, product updates). You can export or have your data deleted from our facilities and equipment upon request.

Data We Collect and Why

IoT service data (only if you use our sensors/platform)
- Sensor readings (e.g., soil moisture, temperature, humidity, light).
- Optional metadata you provide (field/block names, notes, crop stage).
- Device identifiers/config needed to deliver and secure the service.
- Defaults: location off unless you explicitly enable it (e.g., for maps).
Data Merit-Iot Does Not Collect
- No address-book scraping, no cross-site tracking, no ad tech.
- No audio/video recording, no spyware/keystroke tools.
- No personal data required to read public pages.

- We choose to store and process our operations and data in Canada whenever feasible.
- Some providers may process data in other countries with comparable safeguards (e.g., DPAs/SCCs).
Security
- TLS in transit; encryption at rest where supported.
- Least-privilege access, audit trails, key/token rotation.
- Abuse monitoring and patching of known vulnerabilities.
How Long We Keep Data
- Account/service data: while you’re a customer.
